Your kids are growing up so fast
It seems like only yesterday that your kids were taking their first steps and learning
their first words. They grow up so quickly! As parents, you want to give them the
best chance in life, to grow strong, stay healthy and learn as much as they can,
through school and through life – in short, all of the benefits that come from good-quality
sleep. Because a lack of good-quality sleep can have a dramatic impact on your teen's
life and health, including reduced performance in class, poor decision making and
a greater tendency toward moodiness and low concentration, it's important to give
them the best opportunity to rest and recover at night.
- Your teenager needs a bed with comfort and support for a growing body
As your teenager's body grows and changes, it's hard to know what bed is best for
them. Medical experts agree that the spine should be supported in the zero-stress
position experienced in correct standing posture. But what sort of bed will support
your teenager in this position and keep them comfortable while they sleep?
The answer lies in the fact that a bed responds to weight, not shape. Even though
your teen's body grows more adult-shaped every day, chances are they are still light
in weight. So a bed that is too firm will be unforgiving on their newly formed adult
shape, flattening out their body's curves and creating stresses on their spine,
while a bed that is too soft won't help either, sinking in even under the teen's
light weight to give an unsupportive hammock effect.
That's why we at Beds for Backs have developed a range of products designed especially
for light-weight body types. Drop in for a chat with one of our consultants and
ask them about our light-weight range, including:
- a special 7-turn spring that has all the strength of a
firm spring but is far more responsive to lighter weights,
- latex options, and
- light-weight pocket spring options.
What's more, by varying the support level along the bed to match their body's different
combinations of wide/heavy, wide/light and narrow/light, we can help your teen experience
the zero-stress position, which is best for the type of recuperative sleep that
will prepare them and their body for the days ahead.
